Wow, having a 1 year old takes a lot out of you, and sucks up your time like a blackhole… I do not know what happened to my picture of the day plans, or updates on her growth, or anything… I just fell off the planet as far as this blog is concerned, lol.
But yes, she is is the big 1 now, and her party was yesterday… so dear hubby and I are still recovering from all the preparation, the party, and the afterwards clean up… but Cheza had a blast, got a lot of really wonderful gifts from some really great people, and it was, in our mind’s at least, a great success. I am however thrilled beyond measure that birthdays only come once per year!
We had a blast. It started Thursday night with a massive cleaning spree that continued until Friday evening before we were happy everything was sparkly clean (in other words, cat hair off everything for a change). We hung some decorations, baked and iced cupcakes (3 different flavored types w/3 different icings, yum!), cut up fruits, veggies and cheeses for the snack trays, all before crashing hard for the night… all that while keeping a 1 year old happy mind you.
Saturday morning we got up, finished last minute stuff (like making hamburger patties) and as the first party goers arrived, began to enjoy being hosts for our baby girl’s first party.
Several chips dipped, burgers and hotdogs downed, and drinks drained later… Cheza began to open her presents while surrounded by all of her cousins and Drake(her 3 year old boyfriend, hehe).Her Daddy was right there in the middle of them all helping try to keep Cheza’s attention on the presents in the packages, and not so much the packages themselves, but it turns out that at this age, everything makes them happy, so yippy!
She got some really amazing gifts, what a blessed and loved little girl she is.
The most fun though, at least to watch, was the chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing… and how it became mangled by a 1 year old angel of a girl!
Happy (belated post) Birthday Cheza, mamma and daddy love you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!
(Did I mention she walks now? Up to about 20 steps sometimes before she falls, too cute!)
